Dimos Avdeliodis is a film and theater director, screenwriter, and actor. He studied at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Athens and attended acting classes at Giorgos Theodosiadis’ drama school. He also taught cinema at the Department of Communication and Mass Media of Panteion University from 1993 to 1998. From 1997 to 2000 and from 2003 to mid-2010, he was the artistic director of the North Aegean Regional Theater. He directed the following films: Unfair Competition (short film, 1983, first prize from the jury at the Drama Festival), The Tree We Hurt, 1987 (Special mention by the Greek Film Critics Association at the Thessaloniki Film Festival, participation in Critics’ Week at the Cannes Film Festival), Victory of Samothrace (1990), and The Spring Gathering of the Agricultural Guards (1999). As an actor, he appeared in various Greek films such as Learn, My Child, Letters by Theodoros Marangos, A Heron for Germany by Stavros Tornes, The Enigma by Yannis Soldatos, and others. He also directed several theatrical performances, including Forms from the work of Vizyinos (his own text and interpretation by Anna Kokkinou, first performance: 1992), Three Greek Fairy Tales (1995), Marran Athos by Thomas Psyrras (2010), Krapp’s Last Tape by Samuel Beckett (2010), The Only Journey of His Life by G. Vizyinos (2010), Erofili by G. Hortatsis (2012), etc.
