Novelist, playwright, short-story writer and poet. Born in 1972 in Riga, Latvia, she studied filmmaking and theatre at the Culture Academy of Latvia. Her works are translated, published and performed internationally, and her short stories have been included in Italian and French anthologies. Her play Tumsie Briezi (The dark deer) was presented concurrently in two theatres in Latvia (2001), at the State Theatre of Stuttgart (2002), in the Bonn Biennale and in ANALOGIO 2008.
