Danae Papoutsis
Danae Papoutsis was born, lives, and works in Athens. She is an actress and writer. As an actress, she has collaborated with important Greek and foreign directors, visual artists, and institutions (Onassis Foundation, Athens-Epidaurus Festival). However, she is mainly active in independent theater. In 2015, she was nominated for a Queer Theater Award for her performance in Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s Drops on Hot Stones. In 2010, she won first prize for her short story Station in the 3rd Panhellenic Short Story Competition, awarded by the editorial committee of Diavasame.gr. In 2011, she published her first novel, In Slow Motion. Insanity – A Manifesto is her second book. It was shortlisted for the State Literary Awards. In June 2023, it was presented in Oxford in the form of an analogy by the Praxis 8 group of Oxford academics, directed by Anastasia Revi (Theatre Lab Company).
