Director, actor, translator, acting teacher. Born in Thessaloniki, she lives in Athens. Studied English literature, acting at the Drama School of Kyriazis Haratsaris and was member of the Free Theatre professional company. Founding member of the Thessaloniki Theatre Workshop. Founded the “Dramatic Art Review” (1978-1985), where she taught. In 1990 she founded the “Roula Pateraki” theatre, producing major classic as well as contemporary plays and acting in many of them. She has directed plays from the international repertory for festivals, state stages and the commercial theatre, and has played leading roles for many troupes. In 2004 she was bestowed the Marika Kotopouli Award for her overall work. In 2009 she received the Karolos Koun Award for her direction of Manos Lambrakis’s Puerto Grande, first performed in ANALOGIO 2005 .The same year she participated in the presentation of Avra Sidiropoulou’s Seasonal (or, The time of Iris). In ANALOGIO 2008 she participated in Oleg & Vladimir Presnyakov’s Terrorism, translated by Gosha Nikolopoulos-Sissy Papathanassiou and directed by Manos Lambrakis. She performed in the Cavafy performance presented at the Sarajevo Museum of Modern Art in March 2014. In ANALOGIO 2014 she directed and performed in Akis Dimou’s Teach me how to leave, and in ANALOGIO 2015 she directed Giorgos Psaltis’s Poppy seeds.
