Studied directing at the Theatre and Puppet Theatre Dept of the Academy of Performing Arts in Slovakia, and at The Square Theatre School of New York. He has directed numerous producitions in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and other countries, receiving national and international awards. From 2006 to 2009 he was art director of Zlin City theatre, where he continues to direct plays. Since 2010 he is art director of the \u0160vanda theatre in Prague, promoting acclaimed as well as controversial productions and directing his own plays. In 1999 his play Hugo Karas came second in the Alfr\u00e9d Radok Contest for best Czech and Slovakian play, while The third age (2003) and Godless house (2008) have also been nominated for the same award.
