Director. Born in Ioannina, he studied law at the University of Athens, theatre and filmmaking in Greece and France. In 1966, on a Nancy municipal grant, he participated in the project \u201cAvant Garde and Political Theatre\u201d at the Centre Universitaire International de Formation et de Recherch\u00e9 Dramatiques (C.U.I.F.E.R.D.), headed by Jack Lang, which culminated into the International Theatre Festival of Nancy in 1967. In 1968-1969, on a French government scholarship, he continued his studies in Paris at the Ethnographic Cinema Dept under Jean Rouch. In 1971-1972 he worked as director with the \u201cFree Theatre\u201d group. In 1977 he became animator-director of the Volos Theatre Club; he lived in Volos until 1991, when he moved the Club to Athens. He produced and directed numerous classic, contemporary and ancient plays (Euripides, Aristophanes, Sophocles, Shakespeare, Vitrac, Beckett, Lorca, Brecht, etc.), and adapted many non-theatrical texts for the stage (Homer, Solomos, Makriyannis, Roidis, Joyce, G. Cheimonas, etc.). As researcher and educator he has participated with papers in many international conferences and has represented Greece in international events. His Antigone of Sophocles, in the original text, was first presented in Volos in 1986 and then, in various versions, in many festivals in Europe and Asia (India, Iran); in 1992 it was awarded the 1st UN- ESCO Prize \u201cfor an outstanding contribution to creativity in the field of the Performing Arts\u201d (Expo \u201992-Seville), and in 2001 the Audience Award in the International Theatre Festival of Tehran. In ANALOGIO 2010 he presented Giorgos Cheimonas\u2019s Phaedra, and in 2016 the play And you, my poor writings from the Autobiography of Elisavet Moutzan-Martinengou. He worked also with Sissy Papathanassiou on Nicholas Mavrocordato\u2019s The leisure hours of Philotheos (ANALOGIO 2016) and Don Quixote of Nikos Kazantzakis (ANALOGIO 2017). <\/p>\n\n
