Initiated in 2015, Analogio has had a long, creative, and glorious existence as one of the most successful private initiatives in the cultural landscape of Greece. It is a living institution that promotes Greek dramaturgy, supports the text, highlights the importance of performance, and reveals the magic of theatre. It premieres various new works of both emerging and well-established playwrights, forming a locus of privileged encounter between Greek theatre and the dramaturgy of other countries and cultures.

Over the years it has presented 170 new plays from Greece and abroad, as well as about 300 related events. There have been approximately 1.300 artistic contributors, and it’s at an Analogio Festival that more than 130 playwrights of various nationalities have watched the first public performance of their plays.  Analogio has also fomented the emergence of various young Greek filmmakers, actors, musicians, choreographers, photographers, and other artists. Many Plays and literary texts that have been publically staged for the fist time at Analogio have been translated (if necessary) and subsequently restaged in the national and local theatres of Greece as well as at similar festivals in Greece and abroad, and have won international awards.
