Our collective memory of the Greek revolution of 1821 was formed by historians and writers such as Giannis Vlachogiannis. Greece emerges through his texts as a source of nostalgia or as some large historical canvas, bringing to life figures and events of another era. Vlachogiannis’ work, above all, highlights the value of education as a key component of every democratic state.

Manos Karatzogiannis is an actor, director, acting coach and the Art Director of ‘Stathmos’ Theatre. He is a doctoral candidate at the University of Winchester, his thesis focusing on ‘Diversity within the private and public sphere in the dramatic works of Loula Anagnostaki’. As an actor, he has worked with the National Theatre of Greece, the Athens and Epidaurus Festival, the Philippi Festival, the National Opera of Greece, and the Megaron Athens Concert Hall, among others. He has performed in theatres and festivals across Greece, as well as in Europe. The ANALOGIO production of The List, where he played the leading role, was staged at the 20212 Μues Saint Dennis’ Festival in Paris (there it was titled The List Project); the play also received the 1st Award for Best Performance at Sarajevo’s Winter Theatre Festival in 2013. After 2007, Karatzogiannis has collaborated several times as actor and director with the International Analogio Festival.
