The play

Trump, leader of the free world, wants it all, as he insinuated in his first statements, at the start of the year. Karagiozis, the shadow puppet who is the eternal Greek, marshals his surrealist humour and negotiations devolve into bargaining at a farmer’s market. A market where everything, tangible and intangible heritage, is on the bargaining table, and in the end Karagiozis manages to snatch from the president a cod’s tail in exchange for a pair of Despo’s tsarouchia clogs, which “stink”.
